Is everyone in agreement that the V1 HE6 (4 Screw) is the best version of the HE6?

I just bought this thing. Took earpads off the vacuum them. Cant figure out HOW they are supposed to go back. Like in that video, no way it can be done? Also, is the driver supposed to look like that with 1/4 covered?
That is crazy. I can get 2 clips in, from the opposite side, BUT how am I supposed to get the other 2? Its perfectly round on a driver side and doesnt have any hooks anywhere like in the video.
I thought my Music Masters was a bit tricky to change pads, but that is nothing!
Edit: Okay I got them, have to be a bit rough. Im super scared that I break this fragile time bomb.

First time hearing he-6 and Im not convinced. Doesnt sound very good, Could it be the amp thats broken? Its loud at 11 o clock even though I have -7db preamp. Could headphone be fake? My DT1990 pro from Violectric v200 sounds better.

Or could be you don't like its signature... the HE-6 has personnality, so... match or no match.

Maybe its the amp thats not working correctly. HE-6 sounds better from V200 on high gain and it only has 2,7w.

Whole thing just sounds cheap across the board. Like 100-200 eur cans.
How do I remove the grills without breaking them?

Ok, doesn't sound like HE-6 at all... either your amping's not right but considering your amp it shouldn't be that bad I guess. So herelies the possibility of a fake or deteriorated pair.
Though I don't totally rule out the fact you just highly dislike the HE-6 sound signature.
About the grills, it really is simple. I don't remember without the cans in front of me, but simply remove the front cover (which is simple enough) and the grills will come out almost by themselves. Then it'll get stuck by the magnets
I got the grills off. Does it look like it hasnt been opened before? I might be warming up to these a bit. Still disappointent but less than an hour ago. I have to give these 11 dB bass shelf from 110 hz down tho. Certainly something seems a bit odd a mismatch in equipment or something not working properly. I have the DT770 pro and have owned HE6 for over 9 years DT770 performance is not even close to the HE6 even if it's driven poorly. What dac are you feeding the Violetric with?

2 other people listened and said they sound incredibly good and found no flaws on the sound. Its just me, apparently I have a faulty audio section in my brain. Keep an eye of the classifieds section, gonna soon find worlds cheapest he-6 + amp combo there if you live in EU area.
