  I'm hoping my Focus pads arrive today (if the tracking site is correct they await me at home).  Going to try them on the HE-6 as well.
 
Currently they are sporting a modified Denon pad with the velour tops stitched on.  Going to find it hard to top that.  May try Alpha's as well.

Need a help.
 
I purchased HE6 from headphone.com about few weeks ago and noticed that there is a slight gap between the earpad and the housing (3 area, up, front and rear).
 
I emailed headphone.com and the service manager suggested me to take off the earpads and fix the gap when re-locking the pad. (by the way very nice gentleman).
 
After several attempts I was not able to fix the gap, and I found out that the earpad itself wasn't properly made. (I think it's a defect)
At this point I give up and maybe going to order other alternatives.
 
Anyone had similar experience ? Should I contact HiFiMan directly to resolve the problem for a replacement of the new earpads ?

Never give up. 

 Contact Head-Direct and get replacement pads. You could very well end up trying other pads but try get the stock pads right as well.

FocusPad-A or just FocusPad?

I'm not 100% sure. I ordered them three weeks ago before you had a choice of the two. Does that help determine which they are sending?

I also ordered before you can chose which ones you wanted. I just received them yesterday. I am pretty sure they sent me the FocusPad A.

anyone tried the Yulong A28 with the HE-6? I'm not real happy with my Denon pairing

Tried the Stax SR-007 pads that are quite similar and the sound gets bassier, bit hte highs a bit veiled.

With the mkii 007 pads there was also a nasty treble peak
