Here are some pictuers from back in CanJam 2010 in Chicago where Dr. Fang was using that amplifier with the HE-6.

I might have made my move too soon... still facing three weeks, as they are not yet made.

GE Ultra Pro 87646 came in today. DC resistance on my meter reads +00.1 with 30ft. length. Looks promising. The cable is just a tad bit stiffer than what I was hoping for, but it's livable since i rarely transport my HE-6. I would just have to coil it carefully when i do. It has adhesive that is removable, and the conductor is 3mm wide, with insulation it's 5mm wide. Great fit for the earcups. For strain relief, I'll have to experiment with either wrapping electrical tape several layers, so it can't be pushed through, or perhaps hot glue.

are we talking about Lawton angle pads......

Yes. Told Mark I wanted pads, not for the D7000/TH-900 but the HE-6. He said give it three weeks and he'll have it made.

Of course, this is not to say they'll be HE-6 specific, rather, I'd have to wait three weeks whatever pads get made.

Here is an option. This is the same amp model Dr. Fang was using to demo the HE-6 sometime ago.

I doubt the preamp comes with it

The price is a little steep, but it does have what appear to be NOS Rikens and Cornell Dubilier PSU caps, with film Solen bypass caps, and I don't see any rust on the transformer, so it can be worth it.

but how long would it last since its an old amp?

It should last a very, very long time since it has been serviced. If I'm not mistaken, all Pass amps built my Mr. Pass himself have only had 1-3 come back to him truly defective. It's the caps and stuff that dry out over time which is expected. I think you could have this one running for 20 years.
