I have boozebuttons ksa5 in house at the moment for a slight upgrade.
It is a marvelous amplifier. However it is limited to 9.28 volts RMS and
some people will say that it does not go loud enough on he6.

Balanced however is a completely different story.

There will be a diy version soon. Stackable as balanced.

Here is a high res picture of an original modified with black gate caps.

Does this get hot?  How about a picture of the PSU and transformers

All this talk about the A-100, it's a great amp for the money, but the Stratos does beat it out.

I'm sure, as Odyssey makes high quality amps.  but they have a base price of $1,275.  With the Extreme reaching around $1,700.  Still a good deal.    But we're talking about $179 here.  The job this amp does for $179 makes it a steal.

Carlos,

Man you can get the HE-6 with the Emotiva a-100 mini X and be good until next year when yu can get a better amp.

you're not kidding! I just looked it up. I am no expert, but it sure looks good -- especially for someone in position! And I could sell it to to my wife as a little amp for our daughter's room!

 Love it!

Could you describe in few words how it sounds with HE-6? This was your favorite set up for a while, wasn't it? -- I mean the 6 and A-100.

Hey KG. Would it be worth buying/building one of these if one already has a Dynahi to power the HE6? I'd like your opinion.

No, I just got the a-100 mini X like 2 / 3 days ago.  So it's new.  I just got it for the heck of it.  If you wait around awhile I more than likely would be selling it.  Just wanted it for our little mini meet we're going to have next weekend (hopefully).

He who dies with the most headphone amplifiers wins.

The ksa 5 is a lot like the T2. There are not enough of them in the world.
The diy version is going to be very popular because its cheap and easy
to build. And the heatsinks are on board.  Although a super symmetry
dynahi with on board heatsinks is also coming soon.

Kevin,

What would be the main differences between the Ksa 5 and the SuSy Dynahi?

Guys, I have heard the original KSA-5 w/ HE-6 & K1000 and it's straight up awesome.

--

Cante Ista, no I haven't heard the Sonett & HD800 first hand but it's very well regarded as an amp for the HD800.  What I have heard is the HD800 at it's absolute best with Nikon God's Silver Ghost & my own F3 clone.  Of course, I've heard the HD800 at it's worst as well.  I like to think the Sonett is at least close to the Silver Ghost or F3 based on the impressions of trusted friends  (and those with similar reference points.).  Ditto for HE-6.

To go off on a tangent (and since I'm home sick with strep throat and have nothing better to do), I'm never 100% sure I've heard the HE-6 at it's best.  I guess it's because of all the talk of fusion vs. fission for the HE-6 here.  Yes the F3 was Class A, but it was only 15w per channel.  To be completely honest, my curiosity won't be completed sated until I try them off a J2 or my Stratos.  But my Stratos have a slight hum if I put my ears to the drivers of my speakers, and I feel this will be completely distracting with close-quarters HE-6.

Another variable I didn't anticipate before was for the Invicta to be as good as it is.  When I sold the Zodiac & bought the Invicta, I was completely prepared for the difference between the 2 DACs to be close to nothing.  I bought the Invicta mostly for the feature set, but as a pleasant surprise, the sonics are on yet another level.  (As far as audiophile levels go of course.)

So I'm curious to try pretty much every headphone I've had again.  I won't, since I need to buy room acoustic stuff for my speakers, and then thereafter invest my money in more productive ways, but I'm definitely curious.

All this talk about the A-100, it's a great amp for the money, but the Stratos does beat it out.

Hit me up if you ever want the HE6 or HD800 on a loan. Ofc not both at the same time unless I happen to have a 3rd headphone then which I don't atm since my AD2k is on loan.  Also I would really hope the A-100 loses out to the Stratos considering the price.
