They are very good I have the 500 because the 400s did not do female vocals well

Going to be demoing HE-500 pretty soon .. own the HE-300 and HE-400 ... might be able to pick up the 500 used for close to $450 from a friend. I'm excited. Since the warranty is out, I'll probably paint them right away. Anybody here have any ideas for a good color to paint them?

Let us know how the HE-500 compares to the HE-400 and if you think it's worth the $300 over retail to upgrade.

The he 400s have terrible treble that accentuates any sibilance in a track. Just get the he 500's as you'll be much happier in the long run and they may be end game for you.

Do the he-500's now come by default with the travel pouch thing or do they still have the black leather box? Mine should arrive on Tuesday so I am gleaming with anticipation .

To get the max you will need a lot more than the e17 I have the lyr but the asgard should do well
