Forget the 2 sided tape, get blue tac does just as well with no damage when removed

The underside of the leather ear cup may flake off though.

2 sided tape caused that initially on the audeze pads, which is why I went to Blue Tack

:p indeed, but the blue tack did take some more off. But maybe it wouldn't have if the tape didn't get it started. Have you tried the actual mounting rings in there?

  I did not try the mounting rings and the 2 side tape audeze sent with the pads was a joke IMHO

why was the audeze tape a joke?

  Im considering upgrade my amp from a magni  uber to lyr2 for my HE500, this is a good choice or can I do better for the price? 

IMHO you should also look at the Garage 1217 Ember,  Tube roll for much less $$$  both are hybrid designs Both have more power than you could ever use and you save some $$$$$.  And Garage is infinitely more adaptable to various cans should you get something different in the future

After a little reading and research I concluded Garage1217 was the better way to go also. Though I went with their SS option the Project Polaris.
