Quick question. The post says order until Monday the 13th to get the preorder sale price of $349. First, the 13th is on a Friday(

). So I guess the sale ends on Friday, 13th at 11:59PM? I get paid on the 13th, so I'm considering getting these. Anyone know for sure?

I've always wanted to try the Hifiman sound. But it's a bit much money wise for the HE500 even with its recent price drop to $699 :frowning2:
So this new HE400 for only $349 is perfect for someone like me.

I've also been wanting to try a Planar headphone from HIFiMan for long time, and at this price point it is quite tempting I have to agree.

They would probably damp the highs even more.

Pads change the sound more because of the material and both the seal it creates and the size of the chamber it creates.  Velour, unless it has some fancy tricks inside, generally gives you more treble and air and less bass.  Pads generally aren't considered damping materials, although I guess they do serve that purpose as well.

I'm glad to see an affordable ortho.  Very exciting!!!!

If they sound reasonably good, they'll probably end up being a volume leader for Hifiman given the price point. I wonder if Audeze will develop a model under the LCD-2 as a competitive strategy?

I sure hope someone here can obtain a pair and do a review before Jan 13th.  I really hate to order headphones I haven't heard....

Same as everyone else here, my wallet and I are ready for plunge, however we need assurance (a fair and comprehensive first-impressions review) first.

Just buy HiFiMAN HE-400 then spray-paint it to a cuter colour :p.
