I use the Nordost Heimdall 2 headphone cable with my HEXV2 and love it.

I had the discussion with my dealer and he basically said we could have a theoretical discussion all day of this expensive headphone cable, but if you want better and love your cans, just get it and he was right.

Fantastic!!!
Detailed, yet not shrill. The top end sparkles.
Smooth midrange.
Tight extended bass.
Not the cheapest, but great workmanship.

Here in classifieds is a HEX v1 upgraded to v2. My question is this now exactly the same like original v2?

Pretty much exact same since v1 and v2 are only different in build quality and pads

Ask if the Yokes are plastic or metal. I think when people sent them in to be upgraded, they just got a new V2. If he bought the pads himself, you would actually have a true V1 (plastic Yokes) converted to V2 with a pad swap (V1 flat versus V2 angled).

Glad you like them. If their particular sound signature appeals to you, they are tough to beat. It's a unique sound with great resolution, extension and soundstaging yet very easy on the ears.

Also - I have heard nearly every headphone in the TOTL realm and the HEX are still up there as my favorites. The only reasonable upgrade would be Focal Utopia or the Stax 009. That's it to my ears.

Just to clarify, I'm not bashing the HE-X in any way, I like them a lot personally. Just saying that endgame is a very tricky word in this hobby.

The trick is to deactivate your headfi account and stay away for a good while after you find something very favourable

I had the upgrade done by hifiman I sent my v1 in and received a new v2 no charge
There is no upgrade to the v1 that is the same as a v2 to my knowledge
