So I just bought a set of Sundara's and have been listening to them for the first time this morning. I think I actually prefer the Deva over them, too which I didn't quite expect. Who all has both sets here that can give me your thoughts and comparisons between the two - I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts because maybe I was expecting too much or I don't know what but the Sundara seems [to me] to be a step back? Not 100% sure just yet lol. I probably just need more time with these but I just thought that was a bit interesting. The treble is fantastic on the Sundara's though, that's for sure. The width on the Deva's is just something special IMO and maybe that's what's different here. Maybe my brain doesn't like change and I'm so used to the Deva's presentation. Either way, I think more time with these is in order.

Any general consensus on the treble? There are reviews that say it's warm and smooth compared to Sundara and HE400i and others that says its bright, and hot around the 6k area and bright in the 10k spot. I was hoping for a warm smooth offering from this company.

To my ears, there is a spike around 10khz, and it can occasionally cause some extra sibilance. This has become less intrusive over time (with use), and I don't often notice it now.

I would agree that it's very detailed. It's not HD650 smooth, but it's also more lively. As an all-around headphone, I'd be hard-pressed to name a better one for anywhere near $300, especially considering its versatility.

Only issue with Deva remains the latest Deva firmware has killed the bluetooth microphone. So if you don't need that, it's a good compromise.

I found the microphone on my Deva Bluemini was pretty bad to begin with, and I've not done any firmware updates -- but I basically avoid microphone usage with it and have since I was on a call once and was told I sounded rather bad.

My mic wasn't bad with the original firmware but when they put out the new firmware to match the wired and blutooth audio levels, it effectively killed the microphone.

Are others reporting this issue?

It's possible my mic has always been bad, or else that I did not adequately test it, but I have so many headphones that once someone tells me on a call that one I'm unfamiliar with sounds bad, I just automatically chalk it up to poor microphone performance and make a mental note to never use that headphone for calls again.
