I agree. But I find it weird that when I listen to my speakers the singer is in the center. When I listen on headphones (Susvara, HD600) the singer is considerably to the left. I have tried different chains and it is always the same. I am getting my ears checked next month. The main vocal should be center (majority of mixes), if you are hearing too much to one side you most likely have some sort of channel imbalance.
It sounds like the problem might reside between the ear cups.I agree. But I find it weird that when I listen to my speakers the singer is in the center. I see…it makes sense. I also got covid back in 2021. I lost my father because of covid and yes it affects many things in the body.It sounds like the problem might reside between the ear cups.
After getting COVID, I got partial hearing loss in my left ear. I had no idea what was happening at first, everything just seemed off, and nothing sounded correct with headphones.
I added a 4db shelf at 7khz, and everything instantly snapped back into focus. Maybe you'll have to do the same if you're suffering a similar fate.
No problem, I hope it helps.I see…it makes sense. I also got covid back in 2021. I lost my father because of covid and yes it affects many things in the body.
Thank you very much for your suggestions! I will give it a try. I was applying either a difference in balance +25 to the right using RME or using +5 to the right in the balance control of the HPA4 to compensate but it didn’t solve the issue. I am not enjoying listening on headphones as much since I can seem to sense better the instrument placement with speakers much better than in headphones. Knowing that the singer should be in the middle, like on the song Hey Now by London Gammar, and hearing it slightly to the left can get unnerving.
Thank you! Yes, can’t wait!No problem, I hope it helps.
Yeah, usually hearing loss doesn't happen evenly across ones entire frequency range, so changing the L/R balance would not completely solve the issue.
If you go get your hearing checked, they might run test to see at what frequencies you have decencies at, and you can use that info to help make your equalization.
Organic is problematic if you’re using it for mixing. Way too bright. I’m already seeing some units being sold on the secondhand market for brightness concerns. I’d recommend a mixing specialist like the MM-500 that’s made specifically for that purpose. It also sounds phenomenal with a DAP.I have been considering getting the Arya Organic for portable use inside the house and even maybe for mixing. The frequency response looks pretty good besides being easier to drive than other headphones.
At the moment I am doing the sacrilege of “running” - sorry - “walking” the Susvara with the Sony Walkman NW-WM1AM2 but Susvara is still a beast even underpowered I like its tonal balance so much that honestly for being around the house, how much “critical listening” would one do? Also, the timbre in this Sony dap is beautiful and very enjoyable indeed. Being a musician first and audiophile second, I still enjoy the Susvara even of a Walkman and a conveniently short Hart audio cable
Thank you, Kevintj604! Good suggestion. I used to have the LCD-5 and I wanted to use it for mixing but could not make it achieve good synergy and was getting listening fatigue too quickly. I am a little afraid that MM-500 could do the same in my chain. So far I have been using Susvara for mixing with no listening fatigue. I might give the MM-500 a try one day, I loved the LCD-X but the weight was too much.Organic is problematic if you’re using it for mixing. Way too bright. Yeah. I understand the concern if LCD-5 wasn’t your thing. The MM-500 is very similar in its tuning. For Mixing it’s phenomenal though. The tonal balance is perfect for that process. Both the MM-500 and LCD-5 are quite the opposite compared to Arya Organic. The Organic is very treble forward where both Audeze’s are quite recessed in the treble region. The LCD-X strikes a perfect balance there but it’s also quite heavy and certainly not optimal for all day studio sessions.Thank you, Kevintj604! Good suggestion. I noticed that you’re selling the Organic as well as the HE1000V3 Stealth.Courtesy of headphones.com @Resolve
Organic is actually just brighter than Stealth, as my ears suspected. They do sound different for sure and technically a bit more transparent
