How many hours have you burned in? 50?
By tomorrow morning it'll be 100. That's the target. It may settle a bit more beyomd that, but at 100 I should be getting a fairly good impression of the final hardware state. How many hours have you burned in? 50?
I'll compare it directly to the R8. No doubt @twister6 will give us a much more comprehensive comparison to other DAPs.But how does it sound compared to other knowns, LOL.
It plays fine but whether or not it's actually bypassing Android is anyone's guess. Have you tried playing a DSD with it?Just downloaded uapp on it. Dunno did it decode correct anot.
Yup I did.It plays fine but whether or not it's actually bypassing Android is anyone's guess. Have you tried playing a DSD with it?
And, did it play natively with UAPP (showing DSD 1-bit with the correct sample rate up top)?Yup I did.

Dang, looks like it's resampling to PCM. This is what native DSD looks like on the R8 with UAPP (note the DSD Direct rate and sample rate up top):
You can tell by comparing with Hiby Music. This definitely bypasses the Android system. It plays fine but whether or not it's actually bypassing Android is anyone's guess. Have you tried playing a DSD with it?
I know that Cayin do burn in their R01 boards in the factory for 150hrs.maybe Hiby do that too.By tomorrow morning it'll be 100. That's the target. It may settle a bit more beyomd that, but at 100 I should be getting a fairly good impression of the final hardware state.
If thats true, then the R01 needs 350 hrs to get the sound to season and settle. So keep the burn going folks and disregard any clowns sound impressions straight out of the box. (apologies to any aforementioned circus employees)I know that Cayin do burn in their R01 boards in the factory for 150hrs.maybe Hiby do that too.
I've just had a read through of the article but I can't seem to find the part that mentions the treble being harsh...the closest I could find was when it mentioned the pairing with the Tia Fourte where the reviewer noted that the treble was pushed more forward when using 4.4. The reviewer had also mentioned that he had a love hate relationship with the piercing highs of the Fidue Artemis when using them at mid gain out of the 4.4.and the review says few high end iems tested treble is harsh with 4.4 no preset. same as what I heard
