Hold it; are we saying DAPs' hardware implementation doesn't affect how the output is?
On this forum even USB cables and SD cards have magic properties...

DAPs' have soundstages? I thought only IEM's did.

But now that I think of it, if I am sticking the output via USB into my Gryphon or K9, it doesn't matter what the dap is, right?

yes, they're my playslists from Tidal. Is there a way to download to my memory card my Tidal files for offline listening? If not, no biggie.
Yes but you have to use it with tidal app

I didn't know the Tidal app would be functional offline. Ok, I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Pretty much all streaming apps offer such functionality (Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify for example). You can download tracks/albums/playlists inside the app to your device. And then they are available while you have no internet connection

Not been posting anything recently as it just works and sounds beautifully.

Its that good you just listen to music instead of pondering any issues. Battery life without class A is amazing!

Agreed. This thing is perfect for me and I have zero complaints. Now all my phone dongles are collecting dust

I've decided to backout of buying a Sony WM1AM2. Going to put any spare money towards a new car purchase instead (VW Buzz). No more audio kit purchase this year 🙂

I've still got to find time to give the Kadas Tea with iPhone a good workout, but for now just actually spending time listening to music with the Hiby. Not even looked to see if any recent pro audio reviews yet.

If anything I'm waiting for a review which is critical of it's sound quality.

For anyone who is on the fence about ordering directly from Hiby (in case of issues), I would encourage you to use Paypal for payment and go for it! (at least in the UK)

I received a faulty R5Gen2 unit (no SE out) initially from Hiby, but after discussions and video, was asked to return it for a replacement unit

The cost for return postage to China from UK (tracked & signed for) was £15.90 Royal Mail - but, if you have paid by PayPal and activated the "returns on us" service from PayPal , you are covered for 12 returns per year, with maximum costs of £15 per return. No issues.

I`m still out 90p I hear you say. Well, once Hiby received the confirmation of shipment return (with tracking details), they immediately sent the replacement (with additional Microfiber cleaning cloth for my trouble). It`s here now, 6 days later!

But,.. Hiby insisted I do not return the accessories,... just the unit, so I have a spare case, screen protector and USB cable. Well worth the 90p outlay :)

Well done Hiby!

I had great experience buying direct from Hiby to UK too, 2nd time now. And both times no extra fees on arrival! Maybe customs man was on his lunch break :relaxed:
