This is exciting! My biggest grip have been the 20K file limit.. but was also bit annoyed by non scrolling text. Will def try both of mods. thanks HotelWifi. Will report back
Likewise, scrolling text is also a major gripe with this device as well. The custom theme allows it when view an album and when viewing an individual track.

What modification did you implement? I may download the theme and try it out.
I change the order of the main screen, the size of font, and the size of the layout menu, so te. About icon is no cut anymore, also the music icon had a little flaw when the shadows apply so I fix it, I'm using a different icons for default album cover and radio cover, different size and color for lyrics, new HIBY icon on menu, about screen and wifi transfer screen instead of old logo.

Quite a few modifications. Going to install the theme and report back.

I installed the theme modified by Needletalk and I have noticed a few of the changes described. I really like the update logo included as it looks very clean with the new 2022 R3. Also, like the change in circle icon on the track player rather than left and right arrows. Thanks again for the improvements.

I think I found a bug on Files view, and it's probably this MaterialDesign theme. It doesn't happen with the stock themes.

The bug is: folder names getting randomly switched when opening children folders (gets the name of a random folder on the root).

I have a folder called "Game (covers, etc)", on root, maybe the parenthesis (or the comma) caused some bug. That "Jazz" folder is also on root.

I started to look at folder view and I started noticing random gaps in folders. Also, some folder names (of album) did change or did not reflect the folder name (of album of new artist) another folder I was previously in.

I'll take a look, maybe is some code on the folders listview, as I didn't modify this myself, you can go to GitHub and handle this issues to FaBjE, either way I will check the code and see if I found something, for what I understand, you got some folders rename on the list view and displaying names of folders on the root instead of the actual folder names right, one more thing, does the replaced names have special characters? Ex, what is the real name of that Game (covers, etc) folder?

Yes, the folders getting wrong names have special characters. I'll submit the issue.

I will do some testing as I didn't experience this issues myself, cuz I have a more simple folder organization system and smaller local library, about 900 songs in total, if the original developer came with a solution first a will take a look to his code changes and update my version ASAP.

I have just joined the R3 Pro Saber 2022 club for some very specific reasons :
-> the 100g (with an extra cash clip sticked to it for hanging) is not an big issue to replace my FIIO BTR7, UP4(2022) or iFi Go blu to be able to sleep an whole night with it hanging on my T Shirt collar.
-> the battery playing time seems to be comparable to the iFi Go Blu (10 to 11hours in BT LDAC/990kbps receiver mode) which is far better than the two other BT receivers (between 5 to 6 hours max).
-> the combo with the Sennheiser IE600 (most comfortable IEM for sleeping on the side) offers a convincing sound quality, without any permanent background hiss at low volume level like the iFi Go Blu has.
Unfortunately, I was expecting with Qobuz, I would be able to use offline my playlists for long intercontinental planes.. but the R3 Pro Saber has a very limited version of Qobuz player with no offline playlists management on SD.

Basically, I have one question concerning the double ES9219 DAC, as it's not clear if the second DAC is activated
-> only for MQA16x decoding ?
-> only with if hi gain is activated ?
Maybe it's just a placebo effect, as it's not easy to do a direct A/B comparison, but I feel sound quality is significantly improved at same volume pressure, when Hi Gain is activated (at least with better/deeper, maybe more textured lower frequencies) => is this possible ? with the Shanling UP4 2022 the second DAC is clearly only activated with setting high gain and sound impacts is similar on lower frequencies..

Any ideas on this point ?

Two DACs is active when using 2.5mm Balanced out.
