HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player

It was 138 characters long, including the ".flac". Is there a 100 char limit on the HiBy? This is rare occurrence, the song title and artist both included the featuring artists, leading to a long file name, as it's how I have MusicBee set up to format my songs.
what about including the full path name to the file? e.g. /[music]/[artist]/[album]/[long filename.flac]

In that case, it's 204 chars!
still not over a 256 char limit. Well. Let me check with the devs, whether this should have worked, or not.

edit: Windows has a soft limit for path+file names around 256 characters. It would be good to keep your path+file name below that length for compatibility with various things, not the least of which is our devices 😅

Tidal doesn't hold your login details for longer than 24h. HiBy says that's mainly Tidal's API fault and there's nothing they can do to change it.

Strangely, UAPP (USB Audio Player Pro, an app for Android devices) is able to stream music via Tidal and doesn't require you to sign in every damn day..

Not sure about Qobuz, since I've never ever used it.

As for Qobuz, my R2-II (fw 1.1) doesn’t behave like that: I entered my credential once, and it never asked again.
I suppose I’ll have to log in after a fw upgrade or factory reset, but haven’t tested it.
Yeah I turned my R2 II back on and I had to log back in to Qobuz too. My username and password were remembered so i just had to hit log in button. I'm on latest firmware.

I don’t see a log in button…
From the R2-II home screen, I select “Stream media”, then “Qobuz”, and I immediately get the Qobuz “New Albums”, “New Playlists’, “Logout” screen. No log in button.

So this device sounds great but is glitchy with Bluetooth Sony xm5 earbuds . That is with music downloaded on an sd card . Most of those files are alac. Turning off WiFi helped and surprisingly I was able to use Tirdal, Qobuz at the gym on their lousy WiFi but with a few glitches.

We will see how it goes .

Haven't had battery drain issues on the current firmware but it annoyingly skips songs during playback from time to time, Hiby has long way to go to fix this little player.
is it the same songs being skipped or not? Could just be an unsupported track?
