Dear all,

For those of you with problems with the HiByMusic app, can you include the version number as reported in system settings-installed apps-HiByMusic (e.g. version 3.0.0 build xxxxx) as well as the issue encountered? We will try to recommend appropriate troubleshooting/update options based on this info.

Thank you and best regards,

The app on beta works relatively well on my Moto G4 (latest Android) but now the app doesn't even launch. Arggg.
Hi jaxz,

Can you look for the following directory on your device? Android (in internal storage, not system root) ->data->com.hiby.music->files->crash? If the crash directory exists, can you put it in a zip file and send it to me via pm for analysis? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Joseph

Nothing there. All folders are empty. Checked via file browser on phone and then connecting to a PC:

Hello jaxz,

Ah, I was under the assumption that you were on either 5085 or 5178. The versions since then have been two steps forward, ? steps back when it came to stability and interoperability, although certainly having more features, that's why I'm holding the google play beta at 5178.

The official beta for international consumption can be found here:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.hiby.music

If you're on 5350 already, I certainly also look forward to your feedback and you needn't downgrade to 5178. That said, avoid any builds between 5178 and 5350 as they are wont to immediately force close when installed over other 3.0.0 betas, as you may have discovered.

Best regards,
Joe

@Joe Bloggs - Where can Build 5350 be downloaded?
The latest I've seen is 5313 Beta - which is running fine on my Google Nexus 5 phone.

Thanks,

@Joe Bloggs @Shanling

Hi there, thank you. Weirdly, the 5313 build works pretty well on link feature with my M2s but not playing any music file stored on my phone (files scaned and shows on library but not playing). Joe, the link you provided earlier (international beta) plays the files from my phone but lacks link support to connect my Shanling player.

Thanks both of you for your work.

@Shanling Why does the app require permission to make and manage phone calls and permission to access the device location?

The app needs to make phone calls and track your position to offer you their services :o2smile:

Joking aside, I've seen many apps require this kind of permissions, for example a dB meter requiring all kinds of permissions, and I didn't really mind it. On the bright side, MIUI has some level of added protec within and it will confirm things again if an app does something iffy, so maybe this is why I have a relaxed attitude.

I'm running V3.0.0 build 5205 Beta.

When I open the HiByMusic app a notice pops up asking my to update to V3.0.0 build 5313 but once I do every time i try and launch the HiByMusic player it immediately crashes saying, "HiByMusic keeps stopping". I have to uninstall and go back to V3.0.0 build 5205 Beta.
