Hiby FC6 - another R-2R USB dongle

Like I said,

I bought this device too late and i was really happy about it even if is a cheap little dongle.

I was enjoying music with my IEMs everything sounded wonderful, clean and nice.
Then we discussed its flaws and the roll-off etc which woke up the audiophile freak inside me.
I hate when that happens !!!!!!

Despite this I still enjoyed it after our discussion. I continued listening and started noticing things so I checked the roll-off, our discussion and specs again.

Looking at this very tiny device I thought about smashing it with a hammer into a thousand pieces and turning the resistors into dust.
But then I told myself , chill Brah enjoy the music and not be so nitpicky is Hi-res 😂
And then it all started over again.

We shouldn’t let our discussions take away the joy of someone who buys it despite everything negative we might say about it.

At the end of the day I don’t really care about Hiby as a whole.

Just saying ☺️

Agreed. This is the exact same experience I have had with my Dragonfly Black.

I'm using FC6 using stock cable on my laptop at 32bit 384 using darwin filter/NOS and getting faint popping/clicking noises. Is this a big issue or able to be resolved?
Same problem in one of my 2 units. Whatever player, driver, resolution or bitrate I use on a computer it is clicking. Otoh, on Android phone it is not clicking at all.

You can try refreshing the latest 1.07 FW from the website, it didn't help in my case though.

Or you can try OS mode and toggle HDR on and off to see if that changes anything. Didn't help in my case eithervso thatvunit got left fir mobile only.

Hope yours gets resolved...

May I know if FC6 really support pcm768khz/32bit? I have one and when connected to my windows PC, the maximum I can choose is 384khz/32bit. The firmware is 1.07.

Here is a picture of UAPP upsampling to 768kHz to FC6, so yes, it can do it. However, Windows internal audio driver can only do 384kHz so that's why you are not getting 768kHz unless you have the right driver (ASIO maybe? I am not sure).

Will anybody please share own experience with FC6 transparency on very dense music (I mean symphonic orchestra tutti)? It would be even greater to compare FC6 with devices on new ESS chips (I mean 9039/9069 Hyperstream IV ones, which I have found very transparent for described use case).
