Rooth is a relatively new brand in China, but the comapny itself have been in china's custom IEM market for many years. They are, actually,a bigger name than UM in China

LS 8 is the first chinese 8 driver custom IEM i think, but the engineer who designed it left the company and founded another brand already.

Their build quality seems really fine for the price tag, just don't expect it to be as good as JH16 pro though.

Haowai, thanks for the info. Don't want to be skeptical, but what are your sources for the info? And what is the name of the new brand?

Also, I can't really compare the 8s to the JH16s as I've never heard the 16s. Whereas I own a pair of 13s so I can compare.

Also making blanketed comments without backing up does not hold a lot of weight on this site. I'm not saying you are wrong about the LS 8 and the JH 16 comparison, but you might want to
add a bit more information than a one line statement.

Thanks again.

i am a Chinese and  there are a quite a lot information about the custom IEM makers at bbs.erji.com , the web is in Chinese of cause.

this is Rooth's thread http://bbs.erji.com/read.php?tid=553856

and here is orginal designer's new brand http://www.erji.net/read.php?tid=830208

this is the top rated brand: thousand sound  http://bbs.erji.com/read.php?tid=520827

don't get me wrong,i am not  trying to say LS8 is not good, actually i am really happy that people from other countries would consider get a Chinese customs, and i hope you enjoy it

just this 8 drivers thing is still new and sound tuning can be very complicated,it is widely accepted for us (Chinese customers) that our local brands is not at the same level as UE and JH,but they are getting there. i will translate a LS8 review later when i have time.

haowai ... i think your opinions and knowledge of the chinese custom IEM market is a really important contribution to this site. Anything you can add and translate would be great. This would begin to open up beyond just UE and JH, which are great, but to push the envelope in development beyond just two companies makes for a better listening world.

Keep em coming!
