I listen to techno / house / pop / rock /electronica, anyt fast pace music . I love bass , but not TOO BASSY , to make my music alive .I'm quite picky , need a bass can with all rounders .so I found Hfi780 , which seem to be a nice can to go for me , bass + detail ... But later on , I found some reviews of SRH 840 vs Hfi 780 , Srh 840 win hands down .. hmm , any thoughts for these cans ? which one is better for me ?
Srh 840 vs Hfi 780
1) bass ? compare quantity in % , and describe quality
2) detail ?
3) soundstage is not my top priority as I seldom play games . But I dislike ms1i soundstage , need more than.
4) which one need an amp to drive ? If needed , I only have $100 more to spend . Probably nuforce uDac ? hmmm , if there wont be a significance improvement(let say, >30%) then just forget about it =( ... currently using a Asus Xonar U1 (external USB sound card)with laptop
5) comfort ? I'm wearing glasses
6) additional thoughts
