I got a pretty decent fix for the headphones regarding the tab issue in particular. My tab broke completely on my left ear, and was worn on my right ear, so I decided to replace both completely.

I used: Pliers, drill/adequate drill bits, screwdriver, two small screws, two square washers, and two nuts.

I removed the covering bit completely, as it was purely cosmetic. I used the pliers to clear some of the plastic in the way so I could drill into the plastic. The rest of it was pretty simple. Works like a charm now!

I'm trying to use this technique... how did you remove the covering?

thanks

I figured it out :).  tore some plastic off with pliers then popped it off with a flat head.  No hardware store here in South Carolina had a square nut, so I ended up using a speed nut.

thanks !

My both hinges also broke after 4 years of service. So I decided to fix them. The only thing you need is a set of small screwdrivers and one (or two) paperclip(s).

Short guide:
Step 1: unscrew the screws as shown is the picture below
Step 2: Take a paperclip and fold it as show in the picture below
Step 3: Hook the paperclip behind a screw
Step 4: Screw everything back together
Step 5: Fold or cut the remaining parts of the paperclip

Thank you for that, i went and did something similar seems to be working.  I made a double loop in a small paper clip and screw it back up with that triangle holding the cup.  Cheaper than getting the Atticus..
