Hi, I need some help to upgrade my system.
My current system is Audio Research CD2 +corda prehead-1 HD600/K501/DT990. I listen to classical music(symphony, concerto, piano, etc) 99% of time, and my budget for the comming SS amp is about $1K. It doesn't matter if it's new or not. I hope with the amp, I can easily hear the improvement of my system.

Thanks guys!

I haven't heard one myself, but it's probably true that you can't really do much better than a B22. I strongly considered buying the one linked above, but I decided against it on aesthetic grounds. If you want something much nicer-looking and more flexible, you should consider going with the HeadAmp GS-1.

Here are all the SS amps besides GS-1 under $1K I can think of:

CIAudio VHP-2/VAC-1
RudiStor NX03
SPL Auditor
Stello HP100

Thanks guys. Would there be any commercial amp that is equivalent to Beta 22?

Sure, but under $1K? That, I don't know.

You have some good hardware in the CD2 & Prehead. I'd look at the Beyerdynamic T1, or maybe sell one or more of your current cans & get the Sennheiser HD800.
