When plugging the Modi 2 into a USB 2.0 port on my laptop, the device continually connects and disconnects and does not appear in "Sound" properties in Windows 10 Control Panel. Upon installing the Windows 10 driver, the Modi appears in Control Panel. However, it still disconnects and reconnects endlessly as demonstrated in the following gif https://i.imgur.com/OiFwRF2.gifv) . The white light on the Modi remains on so it appears to only be disconnecting within Windows. Since the USB 2.0 port was not working, I tried plugging into a USB 3.0 port. The Modi is recognized and remains connected within Windows https://i.imgur.com/ptmKcbd.png) . However, when playing any music through any player (Spotify, YouTube, Foobar), the audio will crash after ~30 seconds and I receive an unrecoverable playback error https://i.imgur.com/yDBeoLm.png) . Here's an extra gif of what happens in Foobar https://i.imgur.com/tSTjkba.gifv) . I have disabled the USB selective suspend setting in Control Panel http://i.imgur.com/wH334Hb.png) , but that doesn't seem to have helped at all. I am a bit lost as to what to do next and would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Note: The Modi 2 Uber is connected to a Magni 2 (non-uber). I tried plugging in just the Modi 2 Uber and the same problems happen so I assume the issue is isolated to the DAC and not the amp.

Well I have heard of Win10 problems with Schiit stuff. You might have to contact them and see if it can be resolved.
But I bet it is something your doing wrong. If you installed the driver and it doesn't work look on your end. They truly hate to have drivers.

i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but it just doesn't seem to work, and i've just sent them an email.

Is your laptop plugged into the wall outlet when this is happening or off battery or both?
i've tried both, full battery connected to charger and off the battery alone.

It's a compatibility issue with Windows. I have the same exact setup but no issues on my end but I'm certain it's a Windows problem. Try a different usb cable and a different port. Then go into your output devices and make sure sound enhancements are off and your default devices are set right. While you're there make sure the dac is set to 24/192, some people foeget. I'd also check the device manager to make sure everything checks out.

Still no luck, i tried everything you said and nothing seems to change, thanks for your comment though.
