Hey Guys,
 
I bought these Beyerdynamic Dt880 recently and I only realized that they are different to the ones on Beyerdynamic website. 
 
Are these an older model?

That's a DT880 Pro headband by the looks of it.  Pro - not Premium.

Ok Thanks for the clarification.
 
It seems as though my headband is from the Pro but the Ear Cups look like those on the Premium.

It says on the cups whether they're Pro or Premium (Pros are labeled as Pros).  Did you buy them new or second hand?

Interesting - the cups definitely look like the newer (2005) shape.  Haven't seen many of the blue outers before.  Maybe Manufaktur edition?  If you're unsure, and want clarification, just send an email with a photo to Beyerdynamic.  They should be able to answer any questions you have.

Some 32 ohm DT 880s have that blue color on the outer ring part, but yes that replaceable headband should be from a Pro model.

Beyerdynamic has replied my email saying that these are a China market special edition. The reason they gave for mine having the Pro's headband is the climate of south China. The Premiums leather headband tends to get sticky after 2 years due to the hot and humid climate.

Hmm, that's interesting. The premium leather headband does tend to get sticky compared to the pro one, so that might be a good thing. Is your dt880 a 32 ohm version?

Do you use a headphone amplifier with them?
They are only 32-Ohm, but are a little harder to drive then typical 32-Ohm cans.
