Help... Confused and dissapointed with Shure 846 performance

There are a few things to check:

eq and sound effects of on the iPhone.

the nozzle is screwed in properly, i.e you can't fit a nail between the opening.

connector is pushed all the way into the iPhone, disconnect the earphone end and give it a wipe with tissue paper.

try the foam tips, and use the white filter.

if none of those work post some pictures of your iem and contact shure for replacements.

Tried white filter it is little too bright for my taste

EQ on phone is off

I will check on the points you have mentioned and will post some pics today.

these are from April production I guess they would have fixed the initial QC issues by then

I'm was just wondering if there is an issue with the filter being blocked etc, so testing with the white ones to see if the bass is better.

Mine are the stock from the end of feb.

If you have checked the rest i.e unscrew it, visually inspect that they are not blockages, turn the nozzle while you push gently until it locks in and screw it back in, plus used the foam with decent insertion depth, then it sounds to me like there might be a problem with the drivers and will need to be sent back to shure for repairs.

There doesn't seem to be reports of fake se846, since it's clear and hard to copy with the drivers, nozzle mechanism and all.

I had a similar prolem with mine, however I am pretty sure with mine it was fit issue. My ears are small so I can never get a good seal consitantly and it causes a huge difference in the sound. Basically, I have decided to put them up for sale when I return home from deployment because I am tired of trying to get them to fit correctly. My JH16's are WAY more comfortable and sound just as good.

I find that when i buy a product that is universally praised and it so disappoints me as described in the post that there is either something defective with the item or i am doing something wrong.I own the 846 and find them to be spectacular so this gentlemans comments seem a bit odd to me.If he simply said they werent his cup of tea i would simply assume he likes a different sound signature. When he describes them as being horrid as he does there has to be something else going on.I hope he figures it out

Okay this might sound silly, but make sure your iPhone isn't on mono. What you described would be the result of that, I once left my iPhone on mono for a few days without noticing.
