This is just great advice! On extreme metal genre Heddphone be better then NAN-7 and Omega DMS with this preset pEQ? Special interest to dynamics and bass.

Assuming you aren't listening to metal that is crushed purposefully, then yeah definitely.

The bass will especially be advantageous with the HEDDphone v1. It contrasts much harder than the Nan-7 regardless of the source.

While Nan-7 really needs an optimal chain to shine at its best. It needs a very incisive dac w/ a transparent amp to shine dynamically. Otherwise it will be too rounded all throughout its frequency range.

Omega DMS are more rounded than the HEDDphone v1. Omega DMS dynamics focus more on the mids and the bass and treble are not as contrasting. The bass on the Omega DMS will depend on the chain. The Omega DMS needs a slammy setup to get its bass to sound best. The mids contrasting presentation doesn't depend on the chain as much. Bass can also be solved by just adding an impedance adapter to your cable.

HEDDphone v1 will shine on more easily being less picky from the DAC. It contrasts all throughout the frequencies...even after pEQ. But you will need a desktop setup for the HEDDphone and not a portable setup (DMS Omega can do well with a portable setup).

On purposefully low dynamic range heavy metal music, I can see the normal-chain Nan-7 presentation as being more of a "vibe" possibly.

Am running the HEDDphone One, fully balanced, downstream from the Gustard X30 [using the built-in Network Player w/Tidal Premium] and the MASS-Kobo 433. Am using a teknorob23-built 4x 22AWG Neotech UPOCC solid core copper cable.

Once again, the HEDD are my #1 headphones of choice.
