In case anybody's following my "story", Hearyourself finally received my order...But the main point here is that it is NO fault of HYF that my order wasn't being worked on since last Nov as they had not received it then.

Anyway Mr. Andre is EXTREMELY responsive when it comes to my recent emails. As one might have expect, I would have emailed him quite a lot as my worries were plenty concerning wat's going on with my order. So, for those who claims that Andre is only responsive before you commit to a purchase in order to clinch a deal, this is untrue. In fact, when he realise when my order was placed a long time ago, he was EVEN faster with his email responses. And...

...in addition, he "personally took over" my order in order to expedite it, even though it is NO fault of his nor HYF. I'm feeling rather confident dealing with Andre/HYF even more.

P.S. His replies to me were definitely NOT your standard/template customer service replies, as contained within his email replies to me, were SPECIFIC answers to my enquiries with precise details and even my requested custom ear art.

So, I shall wait for the good job from Andre(& his lab).

Hey guys and galls,

Love what you've all been posting. It got me very "inspired".
And actually can't believe I've read them all.

So here's my deal:
I'm a professional bass player living in the netherlands. And I've been looking for suitable custom IEM for a while now. (I almost ordered a pair of livewires).
And then I came across this nifty thread, and y'all got me verry warmed up for a pair of HYs.

I mailed Andre for some more info and some advice on wich model (C2 or C3) would be more suitable for my situation. I'm leaning towards the C3, but i'm afraid they will be to boomy(e.g. less defined) for my bass monitoring on stage. Maybe one of you have some experience in similar situations?

So anyway... I think I am ready to take the plunge.
But I am still cracking my head for the colors and logo options.....So many decisions!!!

I have the C-3's and althhough they have the best bass I've heard in a IEM so far, It is by no means overpowering. "Balanced Armature drivers" do not produce as much bass as "Dynamic drivers" simply because they cannot
move as much air. but the clarity of the bass is exceptional and the increased sound attenuation and fit help clarify all of the ranges.I Highly recommend the C-3's

Is see you have de senn 202s in your inventory.
These are my current and most favorite OEM(?) for on stage. I like the coloring the give on my bass sound.

How would you compare these with the C3s.
Maybe it's a bit of an apples and oranges story, here. But the 202's sound is a bit of my starting point on SQ.

O yeah, one more thing.
The reason I came with the boomy question was, that I
sometimes also use senn's cx300 as IEM.
Wich were recommended by someone on a bassforum.
(He even liked them over a pair of westone um2s with custom tips.)

But the cx300 sounds way to boomy and undifiend for my taste, thus my request for an "unboomy" sounding iem.

It is impossible to compare the Senns and the C-3's, they are as you said apples and oranges. I can say that the sound of the C-3's is much more "Reference" "Flat" sounding with an much wider soundstage. more like the AKG, or Audio Technica Sound signature as opposed to the Beyerdynamic or Sennheiser Bassier signature sound.
I feel the same way about the CX300's and 500's that I do about the HD202's. Incredible sound for the low price. I consider them to be the best "Bang for Buck" around. but no where near customs.

Eliminate middlemen whenever possible although the middleman here (if I am Guessing correctly) has been known to be a very zealous friend to audiophiles and offers incredible deals locally. Just hard for him to deal internationaly I think.

Hi fellows, please "let it go". My intent was to highlight Andre's professionalism; & not to bring down any other entity. If I've given any impression of the latter, please forgive my "dis-intent".

I was hoping some of you C2 owners can help me out. So I sent in my broken AE1s within the first month I got them(I was one of the first ones to get my IEMs in this thread). Nothing really HYS' fault, just a poor quality wire on the AE1s, much like what's on an iPod headphone. So I decided to upgrade to a removable cable incase something were to happen again. While waiting upon my RMA, I decided to go for a C2. So I got mine today, but they sound exactly like my AE1s. I'm thinking I might have accidentally got a pair of C1000s. I was wondering if anyone had photos of their C2s that show the inside so I can compare. Thanks!

NineOhToo, are your monitors transparent? If so, simply look for the number of metal 'boxes' inside it. In my C3, there are 3 metal boxes, which house the drivers. There are two bigger boxes and one small one.

If it is a C2, it should have one big box and one small one. Look hard for the small one cuz its pretty small.

Agree!!!

The E5 made my C3 bass more punchy. And i got the black one.My little Dot MKI+ is still better. But E5 is quite good.

Andre refered me to a middleman in SG who ralliart12 went to but i don't like to have a middleman in between so i insisted in dealing directly with HYS. So don't go to a middleman!!!

Hi all
Can anyone tell me why so many people here choose the detachable cable version?

More usefully does anyone have the AE3 version and is happy.

I WONT be replacing the cable with ones made out of silver mined by tibetan monks in the mountains of antarctica, so that isn't important.

As far as damage is concerned I think that is more of an issue.
However can anyone tell me how easily the C3 come off the cable. I am concerned with loosing one of them, these will be travelling headphones, for planes etc.

Also has anyone tried both the 2 driver and 3 driver version?
I think too much bass can kill music. Basically I'm looking for a neutral & balanced sound. I don't want tinny or boomy (sp?)

Also has any one outside of the USA tried to get 30% cash back buy using a USA based proxy? Would this work? Any ideas?
