Martioz,
You need to let us know your impression on your discmans. I'm sure that you have a better collection than me now, maybe w/o the d-515 and pana sl-s700. How's the Onkyo discman? Let us know your impression. Thanx.

Indeed my collection is growing.
Unfortunately due to my location, it takes time to send goods from US.
The Onkyo PCDP will be send tomorrow, so I can except it in a week.
Last week finally I got Pana CT570 and...
I am not in Panasonic team anymore!

The sound coming from this player is, let say poor, luck of bass, distorted highs... I listened to it only about 2h, I hope I will change my first impression over the time.
Compare with old Sony players and Optimus 3400 this model doesn't have much to offer.
And this remote controller for the US market, shame!
Panasonic could do much better!

Martioz,
Thanks for the info. My panasonic sl-s651 and sx-500 are not that good either when I compare them to my Sony D-303, and others in my collection. That Onkyo really reminded me of Pana sl-s700. If it is a "clone" unit, expect outstanding performance with grado headphone. My SL-S700 headphone out sound smoother and more dynamic than my TAH.

Have you guys seen the D303 with bag and speakers? Anyone want to take a guess on how much it goes for?
Will it reach D555 levels?

Any of you guys check out the action going on here ? $222.50 for a supposedly new D-777 from a seller that only has two auctions under his belt. Still has about a day left, I wonder how high it will go? Hope nobody gets burned. I did a little checking, and his other two auctions were for NOS Sony stuff, so maybe he has a line on old Sony gear. Now if only Silicon Salvage could find a warehouse of NOS D-777's or D-555's like they did with the D-25S

Meith,
Paying 200 to 300 dollars for D-303, D-555, and D-E905 is making sense; however, I can't justify paying that much of money to the D-777. The headphone out is great and all but...it is one or two steps behind the D-303, and D-555.

But I got the feeling that this seller is a bit dodgy. He also use another name and the combined feedbacks are less than stellar.

I think he's the same guy that sold the "NIB" 303 a week ago or so, wasn't there a problem with it?

I asked a few questions about that 303 and he answered, but later refused to answer my "harder" questions about the condition.

He might be cool, but I'm just saying... beware.

And no, I will not bid on it - no money... so I'm not trying to scare you away!

Yes, this is the same person, I bought 303 from him, hasn't arrived yet. I got confirmation he received payment. Communication is hard, permanently out of town, and whole family running this business. You will get e-mails from different people asking same questions, very confusing.
You don't know who should receive your money.
Hey, am I scaring you? This is my opinion!
I hope to get my player this week.

Congratulations Doc, and thanks for posting. You are lucky I have a d-515 coming or else I would have bid a lot more for that player hehe.

I hope it is as good as the other top sony players.
