pick any headphone in the $300 and it will have resolution. For me, resolution is both detail and extension (as picture resolution is the amount of detail you get from the size of the image). So to that end, the HD650, k701, and DT990/880 will all have similar amounts of resolution (the HD650 having less detail but more extension then the k701 for example).

I also have to disagree that my HD650s are only 600x800 screen resolution

: they definitely go very low and high. Throw a dart to pick the headphone with the most resolution: it will be more productive
