Another vote for the HD600 and HD650.

Some headphones I've listened to that are 'warm' -sounding:
1.Shure E4 - midrange is really forward, no bass tho
2.DT531 - the only one in the list that are not boring for rock, trance, etc
3.K501 -similar to E4 but better, still no bass
4.HD650
5.HD485
6.A900

I personally won't describe any Grado as 'warm' sounding.

well it looks like the hd600/650 might just be the senn ticket. having acquired the k601 i guess its time to diversify [and i'd much prefer a warmer presentation as the 1st post might suggest, compared to the airiness of the k601]. as for grados my primary concern is their presentation of the high end, sparkly & piercing highs are a bit of a worry though i haven't tried them with flats. i've been seriously contemplating on a pair of hf-1s but given the limited availability and my wanting to buy retail, it looks like a dead end. and as much as i'd like to get those senns, i'm feeling guilty having plowed the cash for the k601s and an amp. would have to wait a bit.

by any chance does the px100 sound anything like the hd600/650 sound? if it is then i reckon the senn is the definite route for me. and oh my a nice tube amp too
