Headphone Tube Amps - The hunt for all 300B TUBE AMPS

I figured as well but there might be different natural laws over in the "Holo-Sphere"... sei's drum.

but how much character...

I started to entertain one idea... again... Tu be or not Tu be.
Where to go from Oor/Hypsos when the intention is aiming for audio nirvana! (to make not one small, but a giant leap. Not for mankind, for one man, being me, right?).
Read Fidelios review again came over here, envious from that other thread.
Where this man from the paradoxical land of DHT lead me to supratek.

I like Mick M.'s presentation of his/their amps.

So I theoretically, probably impossible to achieve, want to get a good Idea of which would be a "better" solution...

Sell OOR, get Envy or add a pre instead?
A pre into OOR in power amp mode would leave one practically with two amps!

So how close would one get achieving a Envy/Woo 22/V 16 experience with a great dedicated pre into Oor? theoretically...
I might be biased here, but I can't imagine that you'd regret getting an Envy.

As for how close does a tube pre into OOR come, really can't be generally answered.
You'd have to listen for yourself.
Even differences between tube amp models are significant.

However one question is clearly answered for me, and that answer is Tu be!

Tu be is always the answer. Envy works great as a tube preamp, and lots of people like Oor in power amp mode. Tube rolling gives you lots of options, of course. I have Bliss, and use Envy as preamp to it often, mostly as I have my powered speakers connected to The SS amp for convenience.

Not many will be on their level now. Not even Sony, Sennheiser or STAX created a 300B amplifier.

It’s a really beautiful amp with no price. I would be too scared to even ask but with the design, rare woods used, premium components and 4 300b tubes used I would guess around $15-20k U.S. dollars. Possibly higher.

That is a beast indeed. I wonder if these will be available in the US. It does seem odd that they picked 150 and 600 for output impedance selections, but I guess that lines up with their headphone offerings considering some of their 470 ohm offerings, etc.

If those are the only impedance settings, it seems incredibly out of Touch with the market

Would make me Lose a lot of confidence in their abilities

Maybe it’s a range… but if I had this I would not be using the lower impedance setting anyway and if it’s true what was said above, their market is quite small with only 10 produced for the price of a luxury car. 💲💲💲💲

We got some expensive systems out. Some say that expensive = Superior in sound. Well than, Audio Technica has the greatest sound :beerchug:

Audio Techinca hpa-kg baru $84,000 (Four 300B Tubes)
Sennheiser he1 $60,000
Hifiman Shangri-la $50,000 (Four 300B Tubes)

Hi, right noe I own the Feliks Envy performance edition with the full music tubes and I absolutely love the sound, thinking to upgrade to Elrog ER300B what would be the benefit upgrading? I use the Envy as a Preamp with 2 Cambridge Edge M Monoblocks and as a Headphone Amp with the Susvara. I prefer a warm sound the Streamer Cambridge Edge NQ is already very detailed. I need more organic sounding, detailed not harsh. Hope someone can help.

Hi, I am looking for tubes to reduce the detail in my system. I build a Stereo and a Headphone System with:

2x Cambridge Edge M Monoblocks
1x Feliks Audio Envy Performance Edition with Fullmusic Tubes & 6SN7
1x Cambridge EDGE NQ Streamer DAC
1x Audioquest Earh XLR
1x Audioquest Water XLR
Speaker: KEF R7
Headphones: Susvara

Any recommendations?
Thanks
