So will there be a DAC version too as with the original Pico, or just an amp version like with the slim?

Been owning original Pico, I bet this new amp will have more power than some desktop amps.
Will it have power supply option?

a DAC in the same box is not going to happen. A lot of reasons why. Biggest reason is the 2x9V batteries & springs take up most of the box space.
However, a 24/96 async. USB DAC in a matching box....maybe.

Is the amp design dual mono?

If you mean dual mono like another manufacturer's definition? Then yes, absolutely dual mono in the same way. If you mean the real definition of dual mono (completely separate left/right including separate power supplies which would mean 2 batteries per channel) then no..

No, just doesn't work in the price point I want to reach with this amp

EDIT: You edited your post to make your answer clearer since I wrote this, so it's kind of redundant now.

I see. I just saw two batteries and two opamps and wondered.
So both batteries pool together to power both chips rather than one battery per channel?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just being devils advocate here to pool as much info as possible for everyone.
I enjoyed your original Pico by the way. It's the best portable DAC amp I've tried, was sad to have to sell it to afford Christmas presents this year!

One battery per channel could definitely work. The result would be twice the battery life and half the power output.
But I already make an amp with those specifications: http://www.headamp.com/pico/pico_amp/index.htm

Random (perhaps unfeasible) thought: design the cases in such a way that they could fasten together, or perhaps give one of the cases through-holes and we could simply fasten the two together with long screws.

The other thing that would be interesting would be a Pico DAC cable, like the devilsounds and headphonia ones.

I actually drew up something called the "Pico Stick" 3 years ago. never made it. it doesn't really interest me to duplicate something that already exists in several products and just put a different case on it.

Maybe you could offer a second model that does do internal charging, and charge more for it?
Of course I understand where you are coming from - one can find a pair of Lithium 9v batteries with mini-charger on eBay for $35-40, but the convenience of not having to pop the batteries out would be worth twice that to some people. Others would prefer to carry a few extra batteries when traveling, and not deal with wall chargers. In my case it's frustrating to be out and about with a dead amp, where it's not convenient to find a wall jack to juice it up. I love how with the Slim I can charge it from my car power adapter if I run it down. In the current design an automatic shutoff circuit might be nice so the listener won't kill the batteries by going to sleep listening to music.
What is the expected power output at 32-50 ohms, and 300 ohms, with this amp?
