Yea... was intending to have an x9k setup but it seems kinda redundant to go down estat route now.

Similar for me. I sold my Corina and therefore the need for an estat amplifier after hearing Immanis.

Guess now we need like the consumer He1 in order to rekindle interest in an estat setup.

We've lost power at the shop today due to the remnants of the hurricane, but we did just get this in. The machine shop / anodizer finished the enclosures for the Grand Cayman and we got some in champagne. Also changed the transformer box to be more square and 1/2" shorter as some had requested. We plan to show the finished Grand Cayman first at the Capital Audiofest in November

Great question! We've been on the assumption so far that every Grand Cayman would be black, so the champagne is a new addition which I really like, and I'm also optimistic on silver. Since this amp will be hand built in very low numbers, we may offer some customization/personalization but the cost might be high for colors

One thing that has come up is the Inputs vs Loop Outputs. The amp is currently set up with 2x XLR and 2x RCA inputs for a total of 4 inputs. We could change this to 1x XLR input + 1x RCA input, plus 1x XLR loop out + 1x RCA loop out. Does anyone have a preference? We could also make it possible to choose when ordering.

I’m a fan of the loop outputs options. That makes it easier to run inline with a speaker setup or another headphone amp.

I can't really comment on the loop output options as I only use the XLR inputs on my BHSE amplifiers.

I'd personally prefer the loop outputs, as I don't need four different inputs. However, I wouldn't overthink this. Since you're going to make only a small number of custom builds, you could simply set this up according to the requirements of each client.

Since when? I don't know of any units in the wild and HeadAmp only shows pre-orders. I asked Justin a few weeks ago at Capital Audiofest why there wasn't any Grand Cayman at the show this year and he said that the show demo unit had been disassembled and units for the first production batch were awaiting assembly at the workshop.

It's about 18" deep, 13.5" wide. Your shelf will need to be at least 12" tall

So, is it correct to say that proper consumer units have not been released yet? I'm seriously considering purchasing HiFiMan's Shangri-La with the set amplifier.
