Awesome, Stax prevails over flagship dynamic headphones again!

Beautiful setup QueueCumber; the 009S w/ HeadAmp Blue Hawaii SE is indeed epic. No traditional headphone setup can come close to matching that combination of smoothness and detail. Just try not to think of the T2; that's totally ridiculous lol.

Man, all this fuss about BHSE adjustments - it's really so damn easy, it literally takes just a few minutes once a blue moon, and even then you usually don't need to adjust anything. Pairs balance under +/- 0.75V and offset +/- 10V (after FULL warm-up) is perfectly fine; you don't need to obsessively zero these things, though I tried at first.

Have to say, I can't imagine anything being better than the BHSE with the 009S. I'm absolutely loving it! I guess the shelf was sort of a non-issue because it's so open and leaves a lot of space anyway. Here are some pics of my setup, so folks can see what the unit and shelf install ended up looking like:

Nice setup. Only caution I would have is the wire going in to the 009s earcups...looks from the pictures like the skull is not tall enough to keep the weight of the headphones from potentially kinking the wires at the connection.

Pretty much. This is how I keep mine. I would need a giraffe skull to do similar

I use an esd bag myself with the wooden Stax stand.

It fits just barely, the headband is a little tall...hmmm.. may need to mod it...(the box not the headband…)

I have two sets of the Stax cover and stand. Love the stands, but the damn cover is at least a couple inches short of the base. For full coverage, you have to supplement it with the inner plastic bag the SR009/S ships with.

Nice! At least I am using that bag, and a happy camper at that. Plenty room for 2 headphones LOL

Thanks! I’ll be taking another one soon now that I have my Susvara back! Also, the gallery sent over the wrong purple skull. The one in the pic was the darker one, whereas I had ordered the lighter one (that lights up more), so another round coming soon.
