Just reviving this thread for a question...I just took ownership...wondering if the headamp aristaeus is a self/auto bias amp, or does it require biaising? The reason I am asking is that I am thinking of getting a matched quad of the ECL86 as a spare set, but wonder if I would use them in the interim as well, whether the amp needs to be biased again, and if so, how does one do that?

Have u reached out to Justin? Unless you decide to roll tubes, I don’t think you need to rebias the amp.

Yes. I have reached out to Justin via pm. There is a matched quad set of telefunken ECL86 locally that I was thinking of buying to try or to have a back up set given that it seems that ECL86 seem to be difficult to source...future proofing. I thought it would be good to roll them in even though they are. Meant to be a backup.
