hmm.. I challenge that with the Naim CD5X at around $3,000.
I've listened to the G08. I guess the recent Meridian, whilst it's not offensive, isn't really my cup of tea.

I see your challenge, and I raise it by 2 challenges.

I second the request for nomination. Anyone that has compared it to other sources? I own one myself but haven't heard much else.

Well, your post and 3lusiv3's both wonder about the AOS Picolo, but an actual nomination for it hasn't been posted yet, e.g. by someone that has compared it to other sources in similar/higher price range. As soon as that happens I would add it of course.

Joking aside, Meridian should please many.

Bluffing indeed. I have never heard the Naim. I will definitely seek it out, and give it a listen. I can be brave at times.

I have compared the G08 to the redbook of an Esoteric, the Wadia 301 and 861, my Cary 306/200 (sold), and a BAT VK5-SE, and many other comparably priced models, and have declared it a winner in my book. Maybe someone with the Naim CD5X, can bring it to a NYC meet, for a comparison.
