I do it the old fashioned way--with a job. I make $15/hr, looking to get a raise sometime soon. When school is out, I work full time @ 40hrs./week; when school is in session I cut it back to 15hrs./week.

What are you doing, making $15 / hr? I make $10/hr for my summer accounting job.

I work as a software engineer for a not-to-be-named tech company that runs a lot of websites that you'd probably recognize.

What, selling their bodies of course.

22, but only really just into the whole scene since I graduated from Uni. I've just ordered Sennheiser HD 595's and a Little Dot MK III to begin playing with. I've also got a hotrodded X-Fi Xtreme Music, so I guess that puts me at £250/$500 or thereabouts.

I've just started a fairly well-paid job (£15/$30 p/h

), so I expect that I will be spending a lot more cash in the next year or so!

Nice. Makes me wish I was more tech savy.

From now on, its going to be quite the opposite for me. Money will be diverted from buying strange audio equipment towards the demands of uni life

Hey - chin up! Uni was tough, but if you do well, you'll be in a position like me when you finish: earning above average cash and feeling very happy and comfortable (for a change). But it's a LOT of hard work. I feel so lucky to be where I am today and I'm not afraid to admit to that.

I'm 16, turning 17 tomorrow and... let's see what I've spent on.

$270 Sennheiser HD 650
$110 + $110 ATH-EW9 Apuresound recabled
$450 HD30GB9
$400 iMod 4G 60 GB
$350 Headamp AE-2
$500 Denon DCP-150 (in repair)
$200 M-Audio Audiophile USB (broken now)
$95 2 Apuresound impedance adaptors
$70? Apuresound interconnect

total... oh my. Is this like a class action lawsuit thread against head fi D:< ?

As far as employment is concerned, let's just say I've been lucky to have parents in my workplace, and have an excess of 6 grand in mutual funds, and have already been provided an instrument and means of transportation.
