Just bringing this to people's attention. I only noticed because an old review said 'the 120 ohm impedance isn't really uniform'.

(also does the stx actually have a decent amp? I know it has an amp but it looks as bad as a portable amp. I don't have any high imp phones to test it with.)

Not exactly sure what you're getting at here or what you're wanting, but my HD555s sounded terrible from my iPod Touch 3G. They got plenty loud, but were thin and lifeless. Hooking them up to my Xonar DX made a very noticeable difference. So, I'd say they will pair up great with an STX.
