Hi, I'm new to the forums so please bear with me :p.

I currently own a pair of HD212's and was looking for a decent pair of headphones to upgrade to. From looking around, the JVC HA-RX700's seem to be a nice, moddable set of headphones. But my question is whether or not I would notice a big difference in terms of sound quality?

They would mostly be used for gaming (mostly FPS type games) and all types of music from classical to electronic. That being said, clarity and soundstage are important to me. The headphones would be powered by a Xonar DX soundcard.

Alternatively, I've been looking at the AD700's and HA-RX900's as well but they are somewhat harder to get in Canada, not to mention more expensive when you factor in duties/shipping.

Thanks in advance and pardon any overly newbish questions :p.

I love my RX700. I prefer them to my AD700 - even for gaming - as well as my Shure SRH440. Modded, of course.

The AD700 are great for hearing where people are in games, but they're not very immersive since I pretty much hated their sound signature.

The AD700 are pretty terrible all-round headphones too.

RX700 is what I'd go for.
