Yeah. Goes well with the Hummer. The Desert Tan paint job makes it suitable for use in the military.

What did that do to the sound of the HD800S’s?Taking the “Gold Edition color” to the “literal” meaning of it! Internal wires upgraded to “Pure Gold” Solid-Core 5 Nines at 22 Awg. Replacing from Stock SP-OFC of approximately 28Awg in sizes.
Solders are Oyaide High Silver contents SS-47

IMO and IME, pure gold brings neutral signatures that is staying exactly what the headphones or players are portraying, but it improves dynamic and energies across the whole spectrums. What did that do to the sound of the HD800S’s?
In the case of 800SA, it brings further sub bass resolution, more dynamic and timbres density, further improves imagines. It is now paired with Litz 7N Silver cables

All sounds like positives to me. I have a Arctic Cable Signum+ on my HD800S’s and love the pairing. For an all silver cable, it has a nice warm quality to its sounds while maintaining details. I would like to get that done to my HD800S’s. Now that 2020 is gone, it's no longer the 75th anniversary, and Sennheiser has removed the gold edition from their official website for sale.

Am I going mad?
I originally bought these 2 days ago, and was blown away - noticed aspects of my favourite songs I hadn't previously. Loved it. Listening on macbook Spotify 320kpbs modi2/magni3.
However I had to give them away - my new pair of the same special edition headphones arrived today and.. they honestly don't sound as good
Whilst the soundstage is all there, those same newly discovered details in songs were a little more difficult to discern on the new headphones. It didn't even sound sibilant like the first pair did, a property that was really apparent initially
I don't know if it is my ears playing up, or my brain playing tricks on me. I thought perhaps it was the volume I listened at initially, but even ramping it up on the 2nd pair didn't reproduce the s***-eating grin I had when listening to the 1st pair
Is it possible for small manufacturing differences to produce discernible differences?
