Because I hate these phones, and even I think this is a great deal.
There is a lot of value in just the fit and comfort alone of the 595.

Thanks for the heads up!.  I just got a set of HD555s and was just going to do the foam mod after break in.  I had a friend over last night who listens to classical and feel in love with the 555s after listening to them.  So when I read your post I called him and he is buying the 555s from me and I just ordered the 595s.  wooohooo!

I should mention that the source that alerted me to this deal was either dealnews.com or dealmac.com. Both will have headphone deals...not the awesome pre-order/testing deals you find on Head-Fi - but good general public deals.

This is a great deal for the 595s. Personally, I'm waiting for the 650s to go on sale...do they ever?

It appears the 595 is discontinued since they are not shown on the Sennheiser site.  I only see the 598 now.

Well that explains it.  Get it while it's hot.
Eventually, when only the white HD-598 is available,
people will start wanting the discontinued grey color of the HD-595.
Supply and demand my friends.

Anyways, I should've waited longer before ordering these.  They've been going down in price steadily for the past week or so.  First they were $165, then a few days later $139.  I posted about it in the HD595 appreciation thread and ordered the same day.  Now they're $115?!?!  Makes you wonder how low they will go on these.. either way great deal IMO
