Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread

Geek Out + Havi + Jriver = the best audio combo I own. Beats out the Dunu DN-2000 even.

Considering that I got both the GO and Havi at promotional pricing, I spent under $250 and have a reference listening setup. Not too bad.

They're opening new campaign for Geek Stream, a portable Geek Out combo Dac/Amp for both Mac/PC/Smartphone. Can't wait to join in!

EDIT: Now you can still get a Geek Wave DAP + DAC  for <200$

I find that with some headphones adding E12 to GO1000 results in a better sound. Yuin PK1 is a prime example.
Baldoor Earbell sounds equally good with or without E12.
Will try Havi next.

Does it matter if I buy GO450 with Havis? or is there marginal improvement with 1000?

Thanks for the reply Halomusic, what is your budget for a cheap amp?

C4 has an incredible power on hp output, couldn't believe my eyes when I see the values:

"The C4 has two headphone connections: one is for standard 0.25-inch (6.3mm) stereo jacks, and the other is for stereo (3.5mm) mini-jacks. On the Colorfly site, you can find fairly comprehensive tests of the C4 for 16-, 32-, 100-, and 300-ohm impedance devices. With a 32-ohm load from the 3.5 jack, the C4 puts out a maximum level of 618 mV. With a 300-ohm load in the 6.3 jack, the C4 puts out a whopping 1,988 mV of output."

My toy just arrived....:)

Day 1 impressions:
Off my note1, just below my listening vol,
Off the Santa clip+, vol is plenty loud...
If I add on the Fiio e18...more perceived depth:)

Of the block, this havi sounds like a winner for classicals:)
Very good clarity...separation.

Swapped around the tips, settled on a big bore silicone from my FAD heaven4...
It is like an inbetw of the havi redstem tips n the white soft silicone that came with th e package:)

The Redstem tips make the highs stand out too much...from the rest of the sonic range.

Ok enuf ramblings on day 1 n hardly any burn ins yet...
Let's see how my impression will change down the road.:)

Thanks baycode once again for the superb recommendation!

For under 60USD, Topping NX1 is getting good feedback lately. I was using my B3 with Fiio E11 (which can be found around 60 USD) but I believe (or think) NX1 is going to beat it.

@bhazard already have one along with his B3. He may give more information on this...

I will be receiving mine in a week so I need some time to answer your question exactly.
