We sang pi songs today in math class...

(to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree"):

Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
Your digits are unending,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
No pattern are you sending.
You're three point one for one
five nine,
And even more if we had time,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
For circle lengths unbending.
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
You are a number very sweet,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
Your uses are so very neat.
There's 2 Pi r and Pi r squared,
A half a circle and you're there,
Oh, number Pi
Oh, number Pi
We know that "i's a tasty treat.

(to the tune of "Jingle Bells"):

Pi day songs
All day long.
Oh, what fun it is,
To sing a jolly pi day song
in a fun math class
like this. (Repeat)
Verse:
Circles in the snow,
Around and round we go.
How far did we have to run?
Diameter times pi! (Refrain)

Compare the following sentence with the numbers in pi:

How I want a drink, alcoholic of course, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics.

3, 14159 26535 8979

The best way to remember the first 15 numbers of pi.

No, I understand that estimates do quite fine, as you would never need to know the exact of something when building things (supports n such). More is better.

Here's what I have memorized:

3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375 10582097494459230781640628620899862

Note that it might be wrong in some places; it's 2 AM, after all.

My computer can work out Pi to 2 million digits in 25 seconds.

And BTW its 3/15 over here... SO I can't join in in the celebrations

I do believe it's 3/15 everywhere in the world, thus making this thread obsolete.
