When inserting SFP modules...
  1. Open latches
  2. Insert SFP firmly
  3. Close latches
  4. Insert Cable

Hello,
Question in the round Gustard N18/pro or Lhy Audio Fmc.
Would only be intended for use with the R26.
My current Fmc setup are the Fmc speakers from Amazon.
I would use one of the two for the clean side of course, the Fmc box from Amazon for the dirty side.
I absolutely can't decide between the 2 devices.
Insights would be great and a decision to make.
N18 pro could possibly make sense as I still have a Singxer Su 2 which can use a 10mhz as input and the R26 of course.
Is of course a cost question for a how to do at the end.
The latter would not be a must for me, just another option.
Use the R26 with Roon, no HQ player or similar.
Oh well, a Holo Red would be interesting but more the DDC function of the Red's. The internal K2 chip of the R26 is better than that of the Singxer Su2.
The Red would also not be a must, as there are also some problems with it in terms of setup and software, also because of the Roon certification.

Ahh, I see... :no_mouth: I now tried to follow your instructions and think the SFP's are properly seated (latches are now closed) but still got the same results. Router can't find my R26 with the FMC mod. Should it work if I set it up on the fly or do I need to shut down my router, set up the FMC and then power up the Topping P50 and then the router or should it matter?

All lights are blinking?
Try turning off and on the P50 power supply.
Does the Streamer of R26 worked before the FMC mod?

All lights are not blinking. They light up still like before (see pic). I wonder why the upper FMC box lights up at 100M and the lower one at 1000M? And yeah, I’ve been using the streamer of my R26 without any issues, and it’s still working normally when I take away the FMC mod.

But I see you have two fiber cables connected to each FMC box? Should I do the same?

Nope, I upgraded my SFPs to Finisars which are multimodes NOT singlemode at the beginning.

The Fiber part have no lights...the Ethernet part has. Meaning its on the FMC/SFP which has the problem. After ensuring the SFPs are seated and locked, maybe you should change cables.

All this fibre talk has motivated me to do some long overdue hooking up!

I’d put the original multimode back in and see what happens, after shutting everything down. The upper box isn’t getting a signal, I assume that’s on the receive side?

Oh man, I think I’ve somehow accidentally ordered the FMCs with wrong SFP modules (see pic).

To my understanding they are multimode modules so is there a way for me to get them to work with the other equipment I have or do I need to order some singlemode SFPs?

EDIT: I checked my Amazon order and this is the set that I accidentally ordered: https://www.amazon.it/dp/B08G4BJY6K/ref=pe_24968671_487041031_TE_item_image.

Sorry I haven't seen in detail what you have...You lack another cable since you have multimode (instead of singlemode) modules like mine rightnow. See my last pic/post...

See your SFP has another socket empty...So connect BOTH cables.

Thanks for the reply yet again but still no luck I’m afraid… (sigh)

The ethernet cable from my network switch goes to the lower box and the ethernet cable from the upper box goes to the R26.
