@Hibbing - maybe if you could be more specific about the software you're using, and what it is you can't see? I assume you're saying the gustarender isn't being found?
Thanks. Yes, I have. Does not show anywhere on my network.@Hibbing Tried turning off at the back of the unit and turning it on again?
Exactly. Tried HQPLAYER, Foobar and others. It is upgraded to 1.4. USB in from my streamer works perfectly.@Hibbing - maybe if you could be more specific about the software you're using, and what it is you can't see? I assume you're saying the gustarender isn't being found?
Check with Net Analyzer to see if it has an IP address on the LAN.Exactly. Tried HQPLAYER, Foobar and others. It is upgraded to 1.4. USB in from my streamer works perfectly.
Nope and does not show attached to my router.Check with Net Analyzer to see if it has an IP address on the LAN.
Thanks for the correction. I thought AirPlay 2 had less limitation. Apple really needs to support a real high resolution wireless codec! Or CarPlay on Streamers...Well no actually, Incredulousity,
Since Airplay2, for now, is limited to 24/48…
So, Airplay kills the “High Res” benefits (hence the connected iPad and USB 24/192 extraction).
And currently no streamer streams Apple Music natively (currently locked by Apple)
But I guess this is something that might change during 2023 (airplay evolution, or Apple TV evolution, or Apple opening Apple Music to third party streamers), and is also a part of the global equation indeed.
In this case, something might be wrong with the software of the streamer, and it does not on its OS.Nope and does not show attached to my router.
Already did.In this case, something might be wrong with the software of the streamer, and it does not on its OS.
Flash again the micro SD card.
Have you also restarted your router ?Already did.
Yes, I have.Have you also restated your router ?
If yes, sorry for this question.
If not, it might really help
Probably a stupid question, but did you select "LAN" on the display?Yes, I have.
Yes, I did.Probably a stupid question, but did you select "LAN" on the front panel?
Was it working before the streamer upgrade?Yes, I did.
Perhaps you should try HE-7Mk2. 8xPCM1704 chips, so it is a chip-DAC. No one will accuse this chip for a brightnes. With a modern electronics, sharing a lot from R-7Mk2, there is no sign of a vintage sound, surprisingly similar to the discrete R2R implementation of R-7. And you can pair it with DI-20HE and 10MHz external clocks.Hi Folks,
I have a basic question.
I am still hesitating between:
- Holo Audio May KTE
- Gustard R26
- Gustard A26
- Keeping current system
I spent the night listening to my current system:
Apple Music Hi-Res (PCM 24/192) - Lighting to USB - PS Audio Digital Link III Mod Cullen IV (DAC) - Plinius Preamp - Plinius Amp - Martin Logan Summit’s (Electrostatic Speakers).
Plinius Preamp, Plinius Amp and ML Summits are super revealing.
PS Audio DL-III is a chip DAC.
while listening, I was thinking “How can it be better than this ?”
If anything, my system might be too bright.
So, my question to you : Is it fair to say that R2R DACs are less bright than Chip DACs ?
Thanks
No idea. I did both upgrades before hooking it up. Tried direct from router and through a switch. Updated firmware twice. Was it working before the streamer upgrade?
Could you post your source chain please to the dac.
The challenge here is it really is plug in play. So as long as the dac is on the right network and enabled in the software player - it should just work.
I’d rule out basic hardware setup, network setup first, and then reflash the firmware. Am guessing the firmware upgrade didn’t work but would like to know whether it was working on previous version.
