Try writing Gustard at: Gustard@163.com

On another note. This I saw in their Taobao store. Guessing same functionality, different DAC Chip.

That looks so much better than the R26 design...

I've now written to the address you gave above, thanks for that info mickey. The US price of the DAC you showed there would be about $1020 US, so looks like something positioned below the X26 possibly (?) with AKM chips instead of the ESS 9038s in the X26. A progression of the A line?

Could you power off completely the R26 (with the front banel button and with the back panel switch) and then switch on only from the back panel switch (to put it on standby mode) and tell us if it keeps silent in stand by mode?

Thanks!
I received a new unit of r26 4 days ago, no hum, hiss, buzz or high pitch noises in any mode, i am using 220v and from India if that matters.

Placed an order for Gustard R26 and LADDER Schumann

A blind purchase based on reviews and feedback is more of a desire to get to know the devices than an attempt to replace something in my system. But who knows.

Thanks for the info! My unit was completely silent too in any mode in the very first days of use but now it has the high pitch noise issue only if I put the unit in stand by mode coming from completely switched off.

I'm on 230V but my unit just have a slight high pitch noise coming from the front panel, not hum. And the issue only appears when I put the unit in stand by mode and just after been completely switched off from main button at the back panel. If I put the unit in stand by mode after the unit has been powered on there is absolutely no noises.
BTW the unit is always absolutely silent while powered on.
Same here from the beginning (4 months ago). Pretty harmless since only in standby mode, barely audible for me, not an issue for me (powered off the unit few times due to rearranging the gear, same outcome)

Yesterday I have done a test and no problem. No noise. Whether in I2S (cd player) or coax (network player) it's ok

Is there a firmware update funtcion over ethernet? Or do i have to use a usb stick each time?
You have to burn image using PC every time or if you have Linux expertise just ssh into it and run apt upgrade.

It doesn't. When I power it on again the sound comes back indeed. Then it goes slowly away.

so I can't even use my Mac to put the firmware on a stick?
If you look further back at my postings I had to use my MacBook to successfully flash the 1.3 firmware using Balena Etcher.
