GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge

Hi. For about a month now, I've been experiencing a small but very annoying problem, and I'm wondering where it's coming from. Maybe you can help me with this? Specifically, at random moments, I have half-second interruptions in audio playback from the LAN connection (the optical connection works flawlessly). What have I done?
If you use Tidal connect often, your SD card may be worn out. For the streamer to work properly, data is saved on the SD card. If there is a problem with saving, the streamer may pause playback. Tidal connect is a card killer because it saves everything on the card. Try replacing the card, preferably with a 32GB U3 or V30

My LAN dropouts were present at day 1

Hi. For about a month now, I've been experiencing a small but very annoying problem, and I'm wondering where it's coming from. Maybe you can help me with this? Specifically, at random moments, I have half-second interruptions in audio playback from the LAN connection (the optical connection works flawlessly). What have I done?

1. Flashed the router, set everything up from scratch."
2. Replaced the LAN cable, changed the port on the router.
3. Flashed R26 1.43 (the same as I had before).
4. Pinged R26 to check for transmission errors. No errors found.

The problem still persists. It can be fine for an hour, then several interruptions occur in one track. How do I play music? BubbleUPnP, Tidal, mconnect - all apps on Android. The only thing I've noticed is that when selecting the source in mconnect, the Gustard icon occasionally blinks. Please let me know if any of you have encountered such a problem and if the icon blinks in the mconnect app - see attached files. First is extremly short, second is 2 sec long, after that all repeat.

hello,
I think android has got a lot worse as far as audio is concerned.
Had something similar with the Roon Arc app, ran 1 maybe 2 and then had interruptions after 3 songs.
Roon recommended that I reinstall the app.
That worked briefly and then it came back.
In the meantime I have looked at all the settings on Android including the developer mode and permissions, extended timeout, sleep mode can no longer be set indefinitely nir max 30 min.and many other little things.
That's why I say that Android is the worst for audio from the base like tablet or smartphone, if it has not been tailored for it before. As we see today with Daps, which have their own operating system and are customised to it.
I have also found that things work better with what Gustard recommends for the R26.
Lan with Roon, Tidalapp on the PC and the connection is the most stable there.
The only thing you can do would be to check the ports on the router and open them up.
Maybe that will help, but it's not a guarantee.
In comparison, Apple is really more stable here and without any problems as far as this is concerned.

Problem is mostly with bubbleupnp but tidal connect too. No difference about what is playing from (NAS files, qobuz, tidal). I will try replace SD card.

Robię do SpursForEver.
Dzisiaj wróciłem do oryginalnej karty SD i spróbuję.
Aktualizacja: po 1h nie ma awarii dźwięku.

Spróbuję więcej.
Dziękuję @wikaudio za sugestię

Aktualizacja 2: 5h, nadal OK. Karta Głupia...

Aktualizacja 3 - wszystko działa prawidłowo.

To była karta.
Wikaudio - dziękuję jeszcze raz.
issue reserved.

Best FMC Module: Just around $38 @ 1M.
Amphenol 10GbE SFP+ Direct Attach Copper Cables (Amphenol SF-SFPP2EPASS)
For EU: LINK For US: LINK
I'm looking at putting fibre between my switch and gustard and note the first page summary of this thread has direct attatch copper modules listed as the solution rather than optical cable. This seems to defeat the purpose as there's a continuous copper path for noise using this DAC modules/cable. I'm wondering if this should be updated to something else? Sorry i've no suggestions as I'm at the buy the gear and try phase.

The DAC cable recommendation could be attested by numerous hobbyist from this forum as well as in AS (if you can do a search function you can see and learn why) .

Ok, thanks. I was hoping there was a straightforward reason. I've done the search and read a fair bit on it in headfi and AS via links you prevously posted. My summary of the learning was that DAC copper twinax modules operate at much lower voltage and noise than fibre modules. The fibre modules are still recommended by the guy who makes etherregen for the dirty side to get that full electrical isolation and then use DAC copper on clean sides if your end device has an sfp connection point BUT many folks have started listening to DAC copper in place of fibre in other configs (like just two off the shelf FMC's as per page one of this thread) and finding it sounds better. Logical conclusion is the benefit of full isolation via fibre may be offset by the combination of lower noise DAC copper module combined with the final ethernet chip noise in the clean side of a pair of FMC's. Unfortunately to me this means it's likely more a function of luck of the combination of gear you have at the switch>1st FMC>2nd FMC>streamer device and would need experimental listening per setup. I have wondered as I've been looking at this why people aren't considering the final ethernet chip noise after the fibre as that could easily be as bad as the ethernet noise straight from the original switch. I think I'll go and have another look at the streamer board in the gustard and work out how data logically flows via USB vs network once it hits that streamer board. I may just simplify back to clean, galvanic isolated USB depending on how that board processes it's inputs.

Good luck on your research!

As for me, I come to a point where I am tired listening to my equipments...and enjoying music instead.

Sometimes there comes a thing or two..test it, listen to it. If it is good it stays if not off and back to music again.

At this hobby there are many thing that cropped in, questioned, experimented, debated.

One thing that lead me always to this conclusion: Why not try it for yourself and...just trust your ears.
Then enter expectation bias...one can't always trust the eyes and ears. The first gives the magicians work and the second gives the gadget magicians income

Each has his journey....learnings and experiences. If that works for you fine. But its my money not yours.
