also interested, i have the ad700 and there very comfy.

but i am looking to upgrade headphones soon, based around bands like

dark tranquility, at the gates, in flames, iron maiden, ratm, etc, need to have a nice punch, basically want the music to be more energetic, the ad700s are nice but dont do this, and if soundstage is anything like ad700s, or better i am happy

also the grados look small enough to use portable, or would they leak too much sound?

If the ad700s are similar in any way to the ad2000s and they are not energetic to you then a grado with bowls is up your alley. Probably a 325i, not the darker 225. Soundstage of grados might be less than your ad700s if the ad700s have the same soundstage as my ad2000s. Other than that, I think the ad2000s are really energetic cans. Even more than grado sr60s i also have

I always reach for my Grados the most of everything in my profile.
The 225 is one of those "must haves" for any collection imho.

The only other thing I'm worried about is how "fatiguing" they'll be to listen to for extended periods of time. I really wish I could test the damn things out, but I guess TTVJ also has a 30 day money back policy. Not sure if he'd cover me just not liking them though.

I also like to compare these to something that is known for lots of bass, like the Beyer DT990s.

Todd is a good guy. If you find that you don't like them just give him a call.

I haven't completed a straight return with him, but he was more than happy to take back my 225's and give me credit towards the HD600's I ended up purchasing.

That's good to know, if I would happen to not like them I'm sure I'd happily take credit toward another purchase at his site, I don't really need my money back. I'm out to find a decent set of headphones because I'm tired of my PX100s, so I'll just buy another pair if I don't like the SR225s.

Only things that worry me are the bass and how fatiguing they'll be.
