I know full well the SR-60i is better than the iGrados. What I want to know, is of the iGrado is a big enough improvement over the Koss Porta Pro to warrant buying the iGrado before I get the SR-60i, or should I just go straight to the SR-60i.

Why mess around with baby step up grades, it will cost you more in the long run,
IMHO go straight to the SR80i's, they'll keep you happy longer over all.

Most argee the 80s have a bit better bass and Grado has claimed better driver matching. Lots of info/opinions out there.

All a matter of taste in the end.
If you want to build a collection buy them all, they're cheap enough

Get the 60s if you can wait while you save. Otherwise grab the iGrados now and start enjoying that great Grado sound.

Okay then, the iGrado mods like the quarter mod and stuff, doesn't that make the iGrado sound closer to the SR-60s? Or at least better? Unless the sound is way off I'd rather get the igrados first.

Or make yourself an GradoUltralight:

SR60 with Vivitar folding headband and Sennheiser 414 quartermodded pads, with Sennheiser cushions glued onto the vinyl headband.

Size comparison with SR325iS:
