Grado Signature HP100 SE

I'm going to pimp again for Fog City. Really good cables at a fair price -- the middle ("better") line is fine, and Patrick himself says you don't need to go full Cardas, which is the opposite of upselling -- customizable look, very easy to work with, quick turnaround. Has definitely improved a number of my cans.
I don't know what to tell you. When I was bargaining for Elleven Acoustica seller was kind enough to give me discount on Fog City Audio mogami cable. Have no idea which one it's, but I'm going to presume it's just an entry level 26AWG. I wasn't impressed by it at all, comfort-wise it's not my cup of tea, so I ended up buying two different cables from China.

Very happy with these cables, can't tell you whether they sound better or worse, but silver-plated cable is my favorite kind for neutral headphones.

The measurements are out and they look pretty freaking great. With F pads the measurement look like a JAR600 with flatter mid but smoother response. I may get a pair after all.

I used fog city to make up some adapters for my HP100SE with my trusty 3m SAA endorphin, Patrick is very responsive and rushed my order as I was using a dem pair at the time and the stock cable was proving too short - however the adapters themselves didn't work so well alas. They tried to help resolve the issues but ultimately I had to go a different direction to get my cable fi sorted. I am now waiting on custom cans here in the UK to provide detachable mods to my hardwired Grados and adapters for my HP100SE.

Great synergy between the HP100 and my « old » Eddy Curent 445 amp !!
Grado really loves tubes… ;-)

For what it's worth. My daughter came to visit me this weekend. she's never listened to wired headphones before. Using my ZMF Aegis being fed via my Yggy+ GS2, I had her listen to the Atrium Open, Abyss JOAL, and the Grado HP100 SE. After about 1/2 hour I asked her to rate the headphones. Grado, Abyss, and ZMF, in that order. I asked why and she explained that the Grados were more lively and "crisp"..... :o2smile:

Wow yeah that's funny, I used nearly that exact terminology to describe Grados in general over in the S950 thread

Understandable, because the HP100 has at least 3-5 db more in the upper mids and in the treble than the Composer/stock pads 😜
(But who knows...maybe it's much more than that😆)

I wish you continued enjoyment with the HP100👍

Ps. lol
