Thanks guys. Loved the sound from them but it’s knocked my confidence in Grado a little. Did manage to get a refund from seller though so I’ll decide where to go from here.

Sadly my brand new PS2000e fell apart despite very careful use.
Very high quality standards as per Jonathon's signature in the box.

Hey guys. Sorry, have tried asking in the grado thread but didn't get an answer. I'm torn between the PS2k and GS3k.
Will likely get one of them from Moon Audio and get them to re-cable to a 10ft Black Dragon cable. I've tried looking for comparisons; read some post here saying the user still preferred the GS3k over the PS2k. Also the first hit on Google from positive feedback also mentioned the GS3k were more "coherent" and enjoyable.
Some of the posts here are a few years old. Has anyone got any new input on this? Also, would either the GS3k or PS2k be up to par, play well with, or even best the abyss/susvara?
My experience with grado is limited. I had the 325i many years back, and have the Alessandro MS2e now. I demoed the gs2k briefly a few months ago, but was not too impressed. Have never had the chance to listen to any other grado offerings.

I use the PS500e and the PS2000e with Chord Hugo2 and Dave.
I have compared the PS2000e with the GS3000e on HugoTT2. I prefer the PS2000e because it is more analytical and very dynamic.
The PS500e with G cushion is close of the GS3000e because the sound is a little backward.
The voices on the PS2000e are very delicious: Diction and vocal intensions are totally noticeable.
GS3k and GS2k have the same signature and are perfect for some listeners.
The PS series is for the lover of details and drums.

I have had my PS2000e since early on when it was introduced and it is still my favorite Grado. Detail, air, bass impact and detail of that bass I feel is the best to come out of Grado Labs. I also have a GS3000e. I consider it the best (not because of it's higher price) wood bodied Grado and a nice alternate to the PS2000e since there are several real sonic differences. I feel fortunatel having them both (along with the GS2000e) for chosing which of the former two I decide to listen to at any particular time or type of music. As good as it is, the GS2000e is not in the same catagory as the other two but is still quite an excellent choice if someone did not want to go higher in price. Of course we all know this all still becomes a a very personal call even if we knock out the price differences. In my opinion the PS2000e is the best headphone to come out of Grado Labs. I also do have a pristine Joseph Grado Signature HP2 which I really like a lot but given a choice I would keep the PS2000e if I was to only have one.
Hopefully one can get an opportunity to listen to the contenders (with at least 100+ hours on them). There are some good dealers who have very liberal return policies and might be of help in this quest.
There are no bad choices here but if you can manage the dollars the PS2000e will remain my best recommendation. Of all the phones I have (too many) the PS2000e gets more of my listening time than any other of my phones. There are two other phones that are also part of that much listened to scenario.
As mentioned earlier, these all need at least 100 hours of playtime before they really evolve.
Enjoy the journey and keep us posted.

PS1ke / 2ke definitely have more bite than the G2ke/3ke variants.
Both PS IMO outperforms the G2Ke , never heard the G3ke but it should be in the same refinement as its predecessor, being laid back

Crinacle should do a review of the PS2000e.
In the meantime don't forget that this thread grew from my small review when Grado originally introduced the PS2000e

There's just so little information about the PS2000e out there especially in comparison to other headphones.
How fast is the transient response compared to other headphones especially K702, HEKv2 and 007/009?

Here is the review on our site by Frank:

I happen to own them as well and love them! Best Grados yet!

I've been spending most of my time with the HD800s, but have my PS1000e out tonight and am really enjoying them! I've been contemplating the Utopias as my next headphone, but I am also considering taking a detour to the PS2000e first. Decisions decisions.

I have a friend who recently sold a pair of Joe Grado phones (the most desirable ones, forget the model number).... He has Focal Utopias and after
listening to my PS2000e's, said he would rather have the PS2Ke's.

Pretty cool, the review is from 2017 and you're still in love with them seems like. I'm listening to my PS1000e tonight and really digging them. If the PS2000e are a major improvement, that would be awesome. In the meantime don't forget that this thread grew from my small review when Grado originally introduced the PS2000e

I had the PS1000e but sold it once I had some time in with the PS2000e. In my opinion the PS2000e is the best sounding Grado to date. I do have and love my Joseph Grado Signature HP1000 - HP2 but my statement holds.... Part of the fun, preferences, etc.
