Grado PS-1 on eBay!

It's surprising to see so many early bids. Wonder if this one will clear $3,000.

I think Grado Labs is missing the boat. The GS-1000 is good, but there's obviously a market for much more expensive models. Heck, they have a $2,500 cartridge. Why not a PS-2 or an HP-4? Do a limited run each year - it would be sure to sell out profitably and keep the fans happy.

It was said here once, some time ago, that Grado Labs used to sell some collectable items, from Joe and John personal collections, to gather funds and help some charitable institutions....

Don't you wish you could just strangle these people?

I would if I could....
I never understood why people love to do that. Why can't they wait?

I can't agree with you more, but honestly, if it hasn't happened by this point I don't expect it to.

It's just more taunting as there's no way I could justify spending almost 3 grand on a pair of phones no matter how crazy I get into this hobby.

Considering the original sale point of these headphones and the general sell point of hp1000 and ps1 I'm a little surprised Grado doesn't sell a high-end metal cup headphone anymore...

Me too!
I would certainly buy a HP1000 (or HP2000 for that matter)...

Anybody knows how much the retail price was originally?

Not 100% sure, but I believe around EUR 1000 or DEM 1000 ( in Germany )
